Application Ranges of the Fuel Transfer Pump
The fuel transfer equipment is appropriate to transfer oils that are not highly corrosive, contain no particles or fibers, provide a temperature lower than 80℃ and a viscosity between 5×10-6 and 1.5×10-3 m2/s (5-1500cSt), like diesel, gasoline, kerosene and more. For some corrosive oils, components made from 304 and 316 stainless steel are available. As for combustible and explosive materials, copper-made or nonmetal-made parts can be used.
Description of the Fuel Transfer Pump
This series of fuel transfer pump enjoys an external gearing method and double-gear structure. The pair of gears meshes well with the pump cylinder and separate the gear pump into two vacuum chambers, one to suck liquid while the other to discharge liquid. When the gear starts to spin, the volume of suction chamber becomes larger and the pressure becomes lower, liquid will run into the chamber on the influence of pressure difference. Then, the liquid will be carried to the discharge chamber as the gear continues to move. The volume of discharge chamber is thus smaller while pressure higher, the liquid is finally discharged.

Compared to involute gear, the biggest advantage of double-circular gear lies in no relative slip while gear meshing, thus leading to no abrasion, stable running, low noise, long lifespan and high efficiency.
The fuel transfer pump body is produced and processed by CNC machine, with high precision and fine quality.
Advanced processing techniques by CNC machinery contribute to the high precision of main shaft.
The good quality cover has been well casted and possesses a high degree of precision.
Noted for high precision, this shaft sleeve has a good clearance fit with shaft and interference fit with bearing block.
Each gear shaft must go through lathe roughing, quenching, tempering, hobbing and grinding, which altogether leads to excellent properties.
Generally, the sealing ring has two designs. One is mechanical sealing, suitable for transferring lubricous media. The advantage is zero leakage. The other is packing sealing, which is featured by elasticity, self-lubrication, abrasion resistance and high chemical stability.
The sealing ring can be decided according to actual working conditions and customer requirements.
A safety valve is installed as overload protection. Its backflow pressure is 1.5 times pressure of pump and can also be adjusted and set within certain range. It’s noteworthy that this valve cannot be used as a relief valve for long-time work. In such event, you are suggested to mount a relief valve on the pump.
